How to jailbreak Firmware 3.0.1 with Redsn0w 0.8

It's only a few steps on how to jailbreak the new 3.0.1 with any iPhone with Redsn0w. Follow and you will succeed:

Before you start, please download the below (you will need it):
Select the proper iPhone for the firmware update

Before we officially start, make sure you have Firmware 3.0.1 already installed into your iPhone using iTunes.

Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your PC using the cable.

Step 2: Extract the Redsn0w application that you have downloaded and run redsn0w.

Step 3: Click the "Browse" button and browse through your file and find the original 3.0 firmware. Click Next and the automatic process of patching the kernel will take place. (takes anywhere from 30 seconds - 1 minute)

Step 4: A next window will come up asking you which application you would like to install: Cydia and/or Icy? Just keep it as is with Cydia checked off. (Or if you would prefer Icy, that's fine too).

Step 5: Click next and you will not be prompt to put your iPhone in Recovery Mode or DFU Mode:

Quick Tips:
How to enter Recovery Mode:
1. Disconnect the iPhone from the computer and and hold down the power button on the iPhone to shut it down. (Slide to power off)
2. While holding down the iPhone's home button, insert the USB cord into the iPhone. (Continuing holding the iPhone until you see a pop up on iTunes)

How to enter DFU Mode:
1. Connect the device to the PC and power off your iPhone. (Slide to power off)
2. Hold the power button for 3 seconds. (Top right)
3. Without releasing the power button, also hold down the home button on the iPhone (bottom middle) for 10 seconds.
4. Without releasing the home button (bottom middle), release the power button (Top right) until Redsn0w reacts to your iPhone.

Step 6: Once you are set and in recovery mode, Redsn0w will program a few things and you will get a pineapple icon on your screen (along with a few other things) to jailbreak your iPhone.
Note: During the process of the jailbreak, Redsn0w will have a message saying: "Waiting for reboot". If the program just stops here and nothing happens within the next couple of minutes, remove the USB from the iPhone for 1-2 seconds and plug the USB back into the iPhone.

*BONUS: The unlocking process.
If you are using a different carrier on your iPhone and is not the original carrier that is for your iPhone, you can still use Dev-Team's unlocking software to do so. Just go into Cydia>Manage>Sources. On the top menu bar, click "Edit" and then "Add": http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com
